Hue-topia creates a world where you feel safer in your home and can enjoy lighting effects from cosy to practical. It gives you manual control over your bulbs and makes it easy to schedule them for when you’re not around.
It also offers these other reassuring security features:
- Manual control over each bulb and groups of bulbs. Control groups with a single touch: bulbs in a single fitting, or all downstairs lamps, for example
- Appear to be at home even when you’re not by scheduling your lights to switch on and off, or up and down.
- The scheduled times will continue to work when your computer isn’t on or isn’t in the house.
- Scheduled times can be slightly randomised so they don’t look as if they’re on a timer.
- Listens via the computer’s microphone by switching light(s) on or up (returns to previous state after a preset time).
- New ‘False dawn’ and ‘False dusk’ which can be scheduled or started manually (just dusk) for lamps or groups
- Philips Hue bulbs are low-power LED bulbs with all of the benefits of dimmers, time switches, and color adjustment.
- Detects your bridge – just switch everything on and go. (You’ll be prompted to press the button on your bridge the first time you start Hue-topia.)
- Quickly switch all lights on or off, or access your presets from the status bar.
- New ‘Bridge explorer’ window allows you to browse the contents of your bridge
- OS X 10.9 Mavericks and Retina screens supported.
Version 1.3:
- Adds ‘False dawn’ and ‘False dusk’ which can be scheduled or started manually (just dusk) for lamps or groups
- Adds transition time for false dusk / dawn to Preferences. Default is 30 minutes, which starts from the scheduled time
- Adds ‘Bridge explorer’ (View > Bridge Explorer or cmd-3) allows user to browse the contents of the bridge
- Adds ‘Show Manual Control’ to status bar menu
- Fixes bug causing unexpected results with schedules in the previous version
- Adds link to tutorial under Help menu
- OS X 10.7 or later
- Philips Hue bulbs and their ‘Bridge’ required (all part of their starter pack)
- For best results, Bridge’s firmware must be up to date (free and easy to do)
